Hi, My wife's grandfather, Karl Harpster, was originally named Eddie Inman. He was one of several children of a logging family in Oregon. His father was killed in a logging accident and his mother sent several of her children away (indentured, basically) because she couldn't support them. Eddie made his way south to southern California and was adopted by the Harpsters - orange farmers who eventually sold their land to Walt Disney...). I have been unable to locate his mother's name or genealogy. I've tried census and other data. Any suggestions?

What is his mothers name? Mrs Inman doesn't go very far. Any idea of maiden name?

So sorry it's taken me so long to answer, Mr. Burns. I wish I had more information. Census records and newspaper articles from Humbolt County were conflicting, and I really couldn't pin her name down. My wife's father and aunt just didn't know their grandparents at all...
